Nike
The Human Race
Bringing the world together to run.
In the unifying spirit of the Beijing Olympics, Nike wanted to create a historic event that would bring the entire world together.
So we helped them launch the Nike+ Human Race – the largest one-day running event in history that went down on August 31, 2008.
Runners around the globe ran together, both physically and virtually, to challenge each other and raise thousands of dollars for charity. Local races were held in 25 cities across continents while everyone else participated anywhere they lived, using Nike+ technology to upload their run.
In the end, we brought 800,000 runners from 142 countries together to compete for the first time ever.
After the event, runners hung around for concerts by Kanye West, Fall Out Boy, Moby, and others to keep the energy going. And a hard-cover book was created in real-time, and customized for each participant.
